Mary's Sweet Shoppe is another "Dream Come True" for Mary Hostetter, owner of the famous Blue Owl Restaurant and Bakery. The Blue Owl has been blessed with success and celebrated the 24th Anniversary in the summer of 2009 with the Grand Opening of Mary's Sweet Shoppe, an Old-Fashioned Soda Fountain, Candy Store, and Gift Shop. The "Sweet Shoppe"is a natural extension of the Blue Owl, showcasing many more delicious sweet treats including over 20 flavors of award-winning ice cream, a variety of over 50 homemade Candies created by our talented Staff, Specialty Coffee Drinks and Hot Chocolates, and a wonderfully fun Gift Shop for All Ages!

My wonderful and loving parents instilled in me the value of spending time with their children, family and friends! Mom and Dad were known to take the neighborhood kids or the Little League Baseball team to the Star Dairy, a local Soda Fountain in Galveston Texas, where I was born and raised, or took the family to the Pier Drive-In for a frosted mug of Ice Cold Root Beer on hot summer night! Lasting Memories I will never forget! So when the opportunity became available to purchase the property next door to the Blue Owl, my first thought was 'Absolutely not!" But He spoke to me and said I should rethink my decision. So I began to dream of a place that I could create that would continue those wonderful memories and traditions for all of our very precious customers and friends, children and grandchildren! And Mary's Sweet Shoppe was created, including the Eggleston Room, named after my Mom and Dad, filled with family photos of my precious family!

Mary's Sweet Shoppe is also known for the" Sweetest Birthday Parties", Showers, and Family Gatherings! Chocolate Classes are available for kids of all ages! We invite you to enjoy Mary's Sweet Shoppe! I hope that you can share this tradition, creating memories that are sure to last forever!
